Effective 2012/2013 Season:

  • One lump sum of $707 in September 2012, OR
  • Two installments, one of $382 in September 2012 and one of $325 in February 2013 (post-dated).

People joining the club midway through the season are given prorated fees.

These fees cover coaching staff, pool rental and a few miscellaneous costs of running the club. The Fall fees are more than the Winter fees since they include an annual fee that is paid to the Masters Association of BC. These fees provide us with the mandatory insurance policy and a registration number necessary to compete in Masters Swim Meets.

All fees are nonrefundable.

The club will grant a member a half year (6 months) or one year (12 months) leave of absence (LOA) starting either September 1st or March 1st. A half year LOA may be extended to one year as long as a member of the executive is notified by the deadlines listed below.

Requests for LOAs starting September 1st must be received before the registration deadline (this date will be specified in the re-registration process each year). Requests for LOAs starting March 1st must be received before February 1st. To take a leave from September 1st to August 31st (12 month LOA), the member on LOA may* be offered a spot back in the club with all the members during the registration for the following season (spot to be offered in July, start date is when the season starts up in September).

To take a leave from March 1st to February 28th (12 month LOA), the member on LOA may be offered a spot back in the club for March 1st of the following season, pending availability*.

To take a leave from September 1st to February 28th (6 month LOA), the member on LOA may be offered a spot in the club starting back for March 1st pending availability*.

To take a leave from March 1st to August 31st (6 month LOA), the member on LOA may* be offered a spot back in the club with all members during the registration for the following season (spot to be offered in July, start date is when the season starts up in September).

*If a spot is not available for the LOA member at the end of his/her LOA (this may happen for a March 1st return, but rarely for a September 1st return), the member will be offered the first spot available (ahead of any person on the waitlist). If a spot in the club is declined by a member at the end of his/her LOA period, the spot is lost and the member will go to the bottom of the waitlist, should he/she wish to rejoin the club one day.

Refunds: If the LOA is a 6-month LOA and registration for the year was paid in one cheque, a refund of half fees will be provided.
